Re: Fathers Video Bundle
Most of the broadband providers out here (San Diego) seem to be the cable/content providers.

It's frustrating, because we don't get a choice in which cable provider we use - it's based strictly on address.

As more of the content becomes available to non-cable subscribers, it would be nice to have more options for which broadband services to use to stream it.

Re: Fathers Video Bundle
I wonder if, as people are recording and sharing more personal videos and photos, if the popularity of cloud-based back-up and storage will rise.

Most of my large files seem to be some sort of media-based (photos, videos, music), but I tend to prefer to store them locally because the upload/download time can get annoying.

(And everyone loves "The Cloud"!)

Re: Fathers Video Bundle
Business data services are also very important to small/independent operators -- services to MDUs, office parks, economic development centers, connections to cloud-based service providers, security monitoring, etc.

Re: Fathers Video Bundle
What services are these smaller ISPs going to offer to fill up those fat gigabit pipes? Video can't be the only thing people use that needs that much data.

Re: Fathers Video Bundle
Broadband data service is definitely where the growth is for small and independent cable operators. Mediacom offers high-speed data at 105 Mbps, with plans to launch gigabit service. Other small/independent operators such as Wave Broadband and Comporium already offer gigabit service in some markets, and expect to expand those offerings.

You have the ACA-American Cable Association having services offered I think it is a good idea to offer a service plan for the video and multichannnels which will probably be more data offered for the customers and it would be a more valuable service.
