Re: Telcos Evolving Into a Digital Lifestyle Enabler
I couldn't agree more!

Sometimes I think that companies are too focused on competing with other companies that they dont focus on the bigger picture. That being the loyal consumers and working on things to make it easier and better for them to use.

Telcos Evolving Into a Digital Lifestyle Enabler
Finally they get it. This is what customers have wanted all long. It's a shame it took all these years for them to figure it out. Customer centric solutions are what separates the leaders from the followers. Customers are critical to a company's success.

Re: as technology develops
Yes, totally agree with you!

I think the main focus should always be the consumers and what they want and need in a service. More importantly, like you pointed out, before they know they want or need it. Having people think "wow I really need this" in a product is something companies should strive for.

@freehe, well stated.  Great points about the focus on the user experience.  I share your view - I believe that is the key to truly opening the doors and opportunities in building a real digital lifestyle.  Let's hope more IC's focus on that.

Re: as technology develops
I have always felt that other countries were far ahead in technological advances than the U.S.

DHagar, I agree companies must remain focused. Companies also need to focus on the user experience. It is great that a user no longer needs a mouse and keyboard, can now use touch screen or biometrics but most users are not technology savvy so those features are nice to have but aren't earth shattering.

The goal of IC should anticipate a user's wants and needs before they request them. I am curious to see the advances in IC.

Re: as technology develops
@mpouraryan, thanks - good info.  When they are focused they can be powerful.  It sounds like they intend to be fully competitive in IC.

Re: as technology develops
Very gracious of you as always @DHagar--One indication of this transformation is their announcement of a $ 24 Billion Initiative for IC--they will not be resting on their laurels not withstanding the on-going social and economic fissures...

Re: as technology develops
@mpouraryan, as always, thoughtful analysis.  I think they recognize your points of the economic priorities as part of their political solution.  So I agree with you that they do have challenges.

I believe they will seek ways to use technology and advance their digital/technology infrastructure both to provide the capabilities and image of an advanced economy - promoting it both for digital lifestyles as well as industrial, military, and commercial applications.  Because of their size wherever they apply technology will make the global economy take notice.

Re: as technology develops
As I was reflecting upon  your thoughts, I view their efforts (the Chinese that is) be overshadowed by the reality of Economic Pressures and the corresponding political challenges.   For any transformation to occur, both have to be there--and China will have profound challenges in this regard.

Re: as technology develops
Yes, definitely!

I don't think we'll be bored any time soon. I feel like there's always new advances especially in iPhones. Personally, I'm hooked on my phone and always looking for the new cell device. I'm excited to see what else Apple will come out with!
