Anyone have 4K in their house? Our neighbors bought one recently and seem to be happy with Netflix 4K. Lots of money for not a lot of content, it seems, but on the plus side they gave us their old HDTV.

Re: ?
My in-laws have a 4K TV, and they really enjoy it. I might be a little weird, because I actually don't care for it much. It definitely looks like you're actually seeing the picture in real life, but there's a part of me that prefers the knowledge that I am looking at a screen than watching something unfold in "real life." For similar reasons, I don't much care for 3D movies. I can watch both for short periods of time, but after awhile, I get sick of it. With 4K they recommend you sit closer to the screen, so that it takes up more of your field of vision. Normally, when I'm watching anything, I always have an eye on a small child with an eye out for trouble. Putting a screen as my main focus would make that more difficult.

Does anyone else prefer the idea of having the screen barrier, between you and your television viewing? Or do you like the concept of 4K?

Re: ?
@elizabethv I've never watched TV on such a screen, though I can appreciate its appeal for some people. Being able to block everything else out and really feel immersed in the program is the deal escape entertainment, and that would make it happen. It reminds me of what one writer said about enjoying going to the movies all by herself, particularly in an empty theater.

Re: ?
@Mike Robuck, This is exciting. What is the total cost is for customers to view the Masters in 4K cost (cost to subscribe to the DirecTV Ultimate and Premier tiers that are part of the DirecTV 4K channel and AT&T's latest Genie HD DVR, 4K-compatible TVs that are connected to the newest 4K Genie Mini) and is the cost worth the service provided?

I read an article that included additional costs to watch 4K tv such as a new remote, etc.

Here is a great article on 4K TV http://www.techradar.com/news/television/ultra-hd-everything-you-need-to-know-about-4k-tv-1048954.
