Re: why must we choose? All of the above?
Exactly! Maybe some things are more crucial than others in the grand scheme of things, but they all work together to improve our situation.

I couldn't agree more.

All of these factors are so crucial when dealing with digital transformation. Who's to say one is more important than the other? All of these things collaborate together to make technology successful and help move it forward into the future.

The strive for openness has to be part of the equation.    As I personally voted for it, it appears that I am part of a vocal minority.

There wasn't an "all" option. I think we need all those choices to move forward with digital transformation in an effective manner. Many new technologies are available but lack standards.

And.. actually.. Standards and alliances AND a Framework for technical integration... should all be part of the same collaborative spirit that moves the industry forward. Ethernet wouldn't be around today if it wasn't all three of those -- a standard, a protocol that multiple entities could rally around and a framework to integrate different services.

Re: why must we choose? All of the above?
Yes, I agree.

Having the same standards in the advancement of digital transformation does go hand in hand with alliances. I think it's important when moving further along with digital transformation that people learn to act together and act quickly. Making alliances is another great way to work together for the better of different businesses.
