Re: Getting ready for 5G...
Technological advances would move a lot faster with joint or collaborative efforts and cross-marketing similar to Intel selling its products to Dell. Joint committees where CEOs of organizations in the U.S. and overseas would help to quickly advance techological advances for both countries and provide valuable information on lessons learned.

Re: Getting ready for 5G...
A number of broadband deployments in central and south america have been leapfrogging more developed markets... as these "tests" prove out the tech and work out the bugs. What are the barriers for testing these things closer to more populated urban environments? Will open hardware networking projects ever get sophisticated enough to deploy these kind of improvements?

Re: Getting ready for 5G...
Hopefully we'll hear more later this month at Mobile World Congress. I agree though, when does this move out of labs and field trials into meaningful "real world" deployments?

@mhhf1ve I think the 5G network promises not only be significantly faster, but also smarter, which will handle the growing trend of connecting everything to the Internet.

Getting ready for 5G...
Looks like we're laying the groundwork for massive bandwidth and capacity needed for 5G services. Good stuff. Any timeframe to move beyond "trials" and into real production?
