Virtualization Infographic
This infographic has some interesting predictions. As we know many companies are moving to the cloud and I believe companies are doing so at a faster rate than virtualization.

Companies will have to do a business case and feasibility study to see which option or if both options are the best solution for their business needs.

Re: Visualization is awesome
Good points.

I also think that virtualization is something that is exciting and needed. Especially since that's where most businesses are moving in today's world. Security, is also an issue here. In all honesty, when dealing with the cloud in any aspect you're going to be worried about security or lack there of.

The most important thing is however, that in order to keep up the cloud has to be incorporated. Security is something that will just have to be worked on and improved over time.

Re: Visualization is awesome
Great infographic. Virtualization can greatly help business reduce time, resources and costs. It provides many benefits such as: reducing the need for an office data center, quickly and easily setup testing environments, reduce the number of desktops needed for users, removes issues of hardware compatability, reduces energy needs and streamlines processes and deployments.

Visualization is awesome
I personally will have to say that I think Visualization is exciting and much well needed.  The one bigget part of it all is security.  Do you think it should b a huge part of it all? There should be more empahsis on the security model and implementation. With all right pieces plugged in, Virtualization is surely a promising era.  I personally love the  visualizations with the dots out of a 100.  it is very clear and percise. If you are looking into the hub for tomorrow, what would it be like?

Re: I like Virtualization
I agree. A virtual presence and implied physical absense clearly is no longer a barrier for a job getting done. I had an opportunity  to be part of a remote virtual group for almost three years and successfully managed projects thru completion for a very big client with no issues. There certainly are bunch of pre requisites like fast internet connection, VOIP comes first in line.

Re: graphics
@Mike:

Great chart and graphics.

Virtualization is an exciting topic, yet eually concerning when it comes to Security. But I would say that can not be a bar to go further. There should be more empahsis on the security model and implementation. With all right pieces plugged in, Virtualization is surely a promising era.

I like Virtualization
Being virtual makes things easier in a way to communicate online etc. because I have experience being a virtual assistant doing administrative work online and information technology online doing things virtual is great.

Re: graphics
@Mike, great consideration.  Yes, data security I believe is going to be fundamental and an expectation in both building data, connecting data, using data, etc.  I think it is going to be a "requirement" for accepted data channels.  Security will have to become a higher priority and we will have to find better ways to secure, protect the data channels and custodians, and defend against internal/external threats.  It requires a higher level of design and management.  "Intelligence" will be key I think (which includes security).

Sheldon at Light Reading did the graphics. I have to say I was impressed with them as well. Virtualization is obviously a great way to maximize resources, but what about the security aspect? Any concerns there?

Re: Charting a Course for Virtualization
@Ariella,  yes those visualizations truly provide multi-dimensional insights into the data.  I have seen them used by marketing with some well-known companies and they really hone in on the details.

Virtualization just expands the possibilities and enhances our technological capabilities, data, etc.
