Re: NFV Major Role in Transformation
@bayte, thanks!  I think we are all learning the impact of the evolving technologies and transformations continually taking place.  That's why I think polls are important, and relevant sources (like Telco Transformation) that keep us aligned with the real market developments and shifting priorities.

Re: NFV Major Role in Transformation
I have to say I'm a bit surprised that big data only gets 14%. After all the hype we've heard about it for the past 5 years, I'd think it would have commanded at least 20%. But it's also possible that some of the businesses feel that they're already incorporating big data and so do not foresee a transformation based on appying the technology in the future;.

Re: NFV Major Role in Transformation
@Mike, interesting poll.  This should reinforce the growing consensus, led by AT&T, that service providers need a new design and "system" to fully take advantage of the new market opportunities being created.

NFV, and virtualization, really develops these markets by adding value as well through the connections and platforms to the added functionality of the technology itself.  That enhanced service capability will put them in the lead in the services and packages they can offer the customers.  It truly does require a transformation.
