TWC's Cooper Updates Cable’s Energy 2020 Program
This is very interesting and well written. I really enjoyed reading this. i really learned alot from this. I think it will be sucessful when it goes up on technology. This also shows that the energy program numbers are going up and the production is very good.

Re: cable transformation
batye, I agree. At least they are moving in the right direction. Time will tell if the claims are successful and if they can meet their goals. Although it seems some top cable companies are missiong from the 2020 program which limits the creativity and innovation and may cause bias such as: Cablevision, Directv, Verizon, Cox Communications, and Charter Communications.

Here is the executive leadership of the 2020 program

Hopefully this will change their company reputation since many customers are unhappy with the service Time Warner provides.

Re: SDN
As I assessed this, I again wondered about how the merger his own company has with charter will impact this long-term.

Re: SDN
One of the promises of technology (as outlined in this roadmap we've been witness to) is the fact that transformation should be allowed and life is about transformation.    Shouldn't we welcome it?  It is overwhelming at times--but why not?

Re: SDN
The promise of it, though, should insure that we remain hopeful.     The entire industry seems to realize the change.   Why the negative view?   On a side note, I am also curious to see with the pending merger and continued consolidation, what impact will it have on the transformation outlined?  I also wonder whether they will actually accelerate it?

Truly interesting times.....

Re: SDN
@batye there is that. Design and reality don't always correspond, as is so well demonstrated by this picture. Ideally, though, you want to do enough research to avoid that happening, like checking out what angles people use to get from point A to point B and working with that rather than trying to force them to adopt a different path. The same applies to what users consider intuititve in technology, and it is an area that some companies are exploring by hiring consultants who assess what user experience and expectations are with respect to design.

Re: SDN
"It depends" works as an answer for just about all questions. I suppose that it is prudent to qualify one's answer in this case, as there are still unknowns like the types of designs tha will emerge.
