AMSTERDAM -- IBC -- Launched in 1967, IBC celebrated 50 years earlier this month. The 2017 conference drew attendees from around the world and across the media value-chain, as it has been doing for years. Attendance increased this year to 57,669 attendees, all packed into the RAI convention centre in Amsterdam.
Facebook 's Daniel Danker kicked off the conference, and outlined his vision for the social media giant's new video service, Watch.
"Community is key to video," he said, stressing that Facebook's approach to video is very much oriented around sharing, commentary and engagement. (See Community Is Key to Video – Facebook's Danker.)
The conference addressed a number of issues important to the industry as a whole, including the transition to cloud technologies, the emergence of virtual reality and 360-degree video, and security, both in the areas of anti-piracy and cybersecurity.
The Telco Transformation team was there on the show floor, and snapped a few pictures to show and tell.
