Stressed? Worried? On tenterhooks?
Of course you are! Because the deadline for submitting entries for this month's caption contest has come and gone, and it's now time to find out who won. Whose entry will triumph above others? And who will fall short in the final analysis?
These are the burning questions running through everyone's minds, keeping them awake at night.
Unless they're asleep, of course.
This month -- as always -- the selection process was carefully undertaken by the judges using an extremely scientific approach. Obviously, I can't share our complex methodology, but locally brewed Austin ale turned out to be a new -- and very important -- component.
This contest focused on the increasing obsession with social media, particularly among younger audiences, as demonstrated by the young person in the cartoon. (I won't say young man; our cartoonist Mr Klossner has carefully kept this visual both gender-neutral and G-rated).
"Welcome to the 21st century, where the people are plugged in and the technology is wireless."
And so, on to the results…
First place and the winner of a $150 Amazon gift card: "Welcome to the 21st century where the people are plugged in and the technology is wireless." by afwriter.
Second place, $75 Amazon gift card: "Oh, it's a boy all right. He's snapchatting shots of my chest." by JohnBarnes.
Third place, $50 Amazon gift card: "How many hours of Netflix did you say you watched each day of your pregnancy?" by Michelle.
Many thanks to all of you for some really fantastic entries. Congratulations to the winners, and for the others -- the next contest will be up shortly, so don't lose your game-day focus.
