Just in time for the holidays we have the winners of last month's cartoon caption contest.
Raking in first place and the $150 Amazon gift card was afwriter with: "Did anyone tell that this won't protect him from viruses?"
Coming in second overall -- and winning a $75 gift card -- was Michelle's caption: "Bob used his phone a lot, but the time out desk goes a little far..."
The third-place $50 gift card goes to mhhf1fve's caption of "It looks impressive, but the guy is an idiot. The combination is 1234 -- the same as his luggage."
Last month's contest also featured a $25 Amazon gift card for the best personal security breach anecdote with a limit of 75 words. We didn't have a ton of entries for this prize, and some were over the limit, but srufalo was the winner.
Here's a look, in no particular order, at the other contenders for last month's prizes:
srufalo
"Well, Laura, he didn't have to take it personally when I told him a few Tic-Tacs wouldn't hurt. Hey, I'm not the Poster Child for hygiene myself!"
Shaunn
"You know just the other day he was saying passwords aren't enough."
"I knew Bill had a higher salary."
"Someone taped the latch again."
mhh1ve:
"On casual Fridays, he's allowed to leave the door open."
"Unfortunately, he has to keep the door open in order to connect to our WiFi network."
"He told me he got this setup so no one would take his red stapler."
Joe Stanganelli
"I told him to be careful about getting locked in to a single vendor."
"They don't really like employees thinking outside the box."
"These time capsules are mind blowing! I can't believe anyone ever used Windows XP."
"When they said employees were their most valuable assets, I didn't think they were this serious."
vnewman
"I mean, an antisocial engineer working inside a safe, it just doesn't sound like a good combination to me, Nina."
dcawry
"Wow. This new Symantec physical security package we purchased is not joking around."
Ariella
"He claims it's to enhance security, but he's telling his friends that he's the only one with a private office."
"I think he misunderstood the instructions to keep the work safe as doing work in the safe."
afwriter
"Did anyone tell him that this won't protect him from viruses?"
"They all laughed at Larry, but he was the only one ready for the robot uprising."
"I don't think that he understands the definition of job security."
"I guess the new guy doesn't work well with others."
"They weren't kidding when they said securing our workstations would be expensive."
"I'm not sure an 'open door policy' is the best for Bob."
Thanks for all of the caption entries and for the comments on security issues.
