Huawei took the wraps off of its video-as-a-service and BSS-as-a-service offerings during last week's TM Forum Live! event in Nice, France.
The video-as-a-service product uses a cloud platform in order to create an "out of the box" video offering via virtualization and a multi-tenant approach. It also taps into Huawei's content aggregation platform, video services and applications.
The BSS-as-a-service released last week was a new BSS SaaS platform that has been deployed in the UK. It was designed to provide services across multiple countries and operators. It supports customer service by providing ITIL-based and SLA-oriented service operation and managed services. It also offers flexible system configurability, which adapts to different kinds of business needs and can reduce time-to-market for new product or services launches.
Huawei's BSS-as-a-service was first commercially launched in European markets in 2010. It currently supports more than 7 million subscribers, according to Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.
The company was busy during the annual TM Forum event. It also hosted a breakfast briefing with multiple Tier 1 operators, with digital operations the key discussion topic. (See Let's Get Digital: TM Forum Live! Report.)
