The transformation to digital services by communications service providers (CSPs) is well underway, according to a recent survey of 100 CSPs by CSG International.
According to the survey results, communication service providers' action items include updating business processes (69%), improving the technical resources pool (54%) and updating IT and BSS technologies (52%).
The survey results said that 52% of the service providers were already offering digital services and more than 40% see Internet of Things products and services as having significant revenue potential.
On the TV Everywhere front, 69% said they would be investing in creating "a differentiated multi-device experience." Running parallel to a better multi-device experience, 62% of the respondents said they would work on improving the customer experience across those devices.
Over the next three years, 28% of the CSPs said that offering digital services and transforming their business to become digital service providers (DSPs) ranked first in terms of potentially increasing their top-line revenue.
CSG International partnered with Pipeline Market Research to conduct the survey.
